Cataract Surgery

Cataracts are the result of collagen degradation and disruption of the collagen fibers in the human lens. Ultraviolet exposure and other metabolic disorders increase the clouding over time, causing cloudy, blurry, darker, and unfocused vision. Almost everyone develops cataracts over time. In the past, cataracts had to reach a certain degree of severity before they could be removed.

We offer patients a different path to clear vision. With our specialized surgical equipment, Dr. Siepser can remove dysfunctional lenses (pre-cataracts) that have not fully developed, preserving your vision for years to come without forcing you to deal with declining eyesight before you can get the help you deserve. And, with our selection of premium intraocular lenses, you can fully customize your post-surgery vision.

Leading-Edge Cataract Surgery Technology

At Siepser Eyecare, we use a process called phacoemulsification to remove cataracts. Phacoemulsification is one of the most advanced methods of removing cataracts. It is minimally invasive, using a tiny ultrasonic probe to break up the clouded lens and remove it. Using the advanced Centurion® Vision System, Dr. Siepser and his team have total control over every part of the procedure to make it as safe, precise, and efficient as possible.

Premium IOL Options in West Grove, PA

Advanced Intraocular Lens (IOL) Options

Modern cataract surgery has the potential to completely correct vision issues — it all comes down to choosing the right lens. Dr. Siepser offers advanced monofocal, multifocal, and toric intraocular lenses (or IOLs) to replace the eye’s natural lens. IOLs can correct refractive issues including myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia, reducing or eliminating the need for corrective eyewear after surgery.

Glaucoma Surgery

Glaucoma is a multifactorial disease marked by increased pressure in the eye (intraocular pressure) that damages the optic nerve, leading to irreversible vision loss. Although eye drops can be used to manage intraocular pressure, in some cases, these drops don’t provide sufficient relief.

Dr. Siepser offers minimally-invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), performed with microscopic equipment and incisions, which reduce intraocular pressure for a lower risk of vision loss without the need for drops. They can be done with minimal fuss or recovery, and significantly slow or even halt the progression of glaucoma.
