Experience the Siepser Laser Eyecare advantage in reconstructive eye surgery.
Dr. Siepser has over 30 years of extensive experience specializing in severely traumatized and damaged eyes, complex critical cases, congenital defects and repairs of previous poorly performed surgeries.

Acknowledged regionally as “The Doctors Doctor,” Dr. Siepser is a surgeon and inventor of six patented technologies and has earned worldwide recognition for the development of the Siepser Sliding Knot, an Eyecare surgical procedure used to assist surgeons with Iris reconstruction and advanced, complex, surgical techniques.

Cataracts

Trust the talent of Dr. Steven Siepser to ensure the best results and patient care, offering options in traditional cataract surgery or using the advanced eyecare technology of Crystalens, Restor and Rezoom in cataract procedures.

The human lens is much like a camera lens. A cataract is an opacification, or a film covering and clouding that lens. Modern cataract procedures use intraocular lenses, which approximate the correction of glasses. As a result, there is less dependency on glasses. With the use of new multimodal and accommodating implants, even patients with astigmatism or unusual correction can once again look forward to seeing relatively well without correction following a cataract procedure.

Siepser Laser Eyecare also offers cataract patients the use of Crystalens. Unlike standard cataract replacement lenses, Crystalens lenses correct your cataracts and give you back your full range of vision, allowing patients to see at a distance, intermediate and near, 90% of the time, much improving their performance after cataract surgery as compared to more traditional implants. Many Crystalens patients hardly, if ever, need their glasses or contacts again.

Cataract procedures are short. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and patients should schedule 4 hours for the complete process. Patients often resume their routine activities the next day. Studies have shown that people increase their risks for cataracts with many lifestyle factors, including obesity, the use of tobacco or abuse of alcohol and those who work outdoors without ultraviolet protection. It has been shown that individuals with a body mass index over 35 have a four times greater incidence of cataracts and those who smoke have 6 times the risk.

Glaucoma

Expect superior results in the treatment of glaucoma at Siepser Laser Eyecare.

Dr. Siepser’s advanced experience has evolved from treating glaucoma not only with a medical drop therapy, which can be difficult to administer and follow, to surgical intervention for some patients, with excellent results and eliminating the need for drop therapy. For others we provide the use of newer drug therapies that have revolutionized the care for glaucoma patients with once daily applications and fewer side effects.

Glaucoma is the progressive loss of peripheral vision as a result of elevated intraocular pressure, or poor circulation to the eye. This progressive nerve damage can cause irreversible blindness, and is more frequent after the age of 40.

Patients diagnosed with glaucoma in their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s have the option to undergo an advanced laser procedure that reduces or eliminates the need for drops in 80% of patients.  Consider drop-free control of your glaucoma as an alternative to remembering proper dosing and care that were previously used to manage vision loss in glaucoma management.

Choose the convenience of trabectome, a non-penetrating procedure that does not disturb the eyes normal anatomy. Trabectome is an outpatient surgery that allows the patient to go home the same day. It is particularly offered to patients who are allergic to medications or who prefer to use surgical interventions instead of other medical therapies.

Astigmatism

It is no longer necessary to suffer from astigmatism. The correction of astigmatism is performed on a daily basis at Siepser Laser Eyecare and this correction is easily obtained even in the highest degrees of astigmatism.

Astigmatism may accompany farsightedness or nearsightedness. It is usually caused by an irregularly shaped cornea but can sometimes result from an irregularly shaped lens, which is located behind the cornea, resulting in blurred vision and requiring the use of eyeglasses or contact lenses.

The correction of astigmatism can either be done solely by the use of astigmatic keratotomies, limbal relaxing incisions and laser in those individuals who have otherwise normal eyes. This provides very satisfied patients who would have difficulty seeing at any distance without correction and now can function without the use of contacts or glasses. The procedure takes just a few minutes and recovery varies from immediate to several weeks according to the specific requirements of each individual’s needs. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and typically requires about a 3-hour recovery at one of our surgical centers.

Dry Eye

Gain comfort from dry eye with the use of a tear supplement or additional specific medication indicated for the use of dry eye, such as Restasis.

Dry eye is the most frequent complaint and disease in ophthalmology. Most women, after the age of 30, begin to have a decrease in their estrogen level. This is associated with increasing incidence of dry eye. Women are not alone in that many males in their later years develop dry eyes.

Siepser Laser Eyecare can often improve ocular comfort by working through a series of regimens to best determine a particular patient’s tear supplement needs. We use a systematic approach to the analysis of your specific tear deficiency problem before considering various temporary and permanent surgical methods to assist in improving your ocular comfort.
